Today, we're going to follow up on an issue from last time:
- Regarding
"The mystery of the disappearing capture tool palette in Snapz Pro": It appears
to be a simple solution. Users experiencing this should update their version of
After Dark. Once the older version of AD has dimmed the screen, SP thinks the
screen is still dimmed. Since it thinks it can't draw the pallette on a dimmed
screen, it captures the whole screen by default. Updating to the latest version
of AD seems to take care of the problem.
- Also concerning SP, we have encountered a few issues with 1.1.0 under
OS8.5.x. Images sent directly to the clipboard ignore a color change to black
and white or grey scale. When entering a file name, typing, deleting and typing
leaves artifacts in the file name field. SP captures extraneous parts of the
main menu when capturing pull down menus. All of these issues will be addressed
by Snapz Pro 1.1.1, coming soon to a theatre near you. SP 1.1.1 will also be
fully Appearance Manager savvy, good news for all you themes users.
- As pointed out in a previous Eeeek A Bug, Apeiron is our only game that is
not USB compatible. You can open, and even start a game, but there is no control
over the shooter. Preliminary work has begun on an update that will make Apeiron
iMac compatible and even take care of Apeiron's choosiness regarding input
controls in general.
- There seems to be an issue unresolved in EV Override. When this first came
to my attention, all of the users reporting it had used Cheater plug ins of one
kind or another, so I dismissed it to a degree. When users tried to board a
ship, it quit or when they tried to recall their fighters it quit, reporting type
1 or 2 errors. Of course, the users of Cheater plugs got to this point first.
Now regular users are reporting this as well. If you've experienced this *with
no cheater plug ins, ever* contact me at help@ambrosiasw.com.
- Our new game Slithereens has gone over well, but some users haven't been
able to play it. As soon as they open the game, they get a dialog box with the
message: "-8300 Main Quit" - no fun. It seems to be related to RAMDoubler, or
virtual memory. Our programmers are aware of the issue and they're looking into
it as we speak, or I type, or whatever....
Until next time...
