River of Fears

River of Fears is a misnomer because it's a very enjoyable level with a Mind Crystal as a reward and a very interesting character by the name of Nimbo. If you have any comments or problems with this guide, you can email me. I welcome all criticisms, good and bad.

Go left from the entrance until you see Picture 1. Go on top of the tree to see a Walk on Water power up. Grab it and go left across the water to get to a Mind Crystal in Picture 3. Now go back to the eastern edge of the river and swim to the right to get the Gold Xichrons. Be sure to kill the fish with your knife. They go down after one strike so it won't be very hard. After you're done with the underwater part to the east, head to the west until you get to Picture 4.

Climb up and go to the right to Picture 5 and Picture 6 and kill all of the enemies. Be sure to explore both levels of this area. Once you go as far to the right as you can, go back to Picture 5 and head left to Picture 7. Save if you want to and head left. Kill the frogs and go left and then down to Picture 8.

Get the Invincibility power up by breaking the rock to the right of it and walk towards the rock to get it off the button to open up the wall. Hop in the water and go left, get all of the Gold Xichrons and fish and climb out of the water at Picture 9. Climb up the wall directly to the right to get to Picture 10. Kill the Sword wielding Troll, grab the Gold Xichrons and head to the left to Picture 11.

Go left past the swinging chain and go left to get all of the Gold Xichrons and fish until you reach Picture 13. This chest holds a Metal Key that you will need later. Go back to the right and swim until you see Picture 14. Climb up and go to the right until you see Picture 15. Get all of the Gold Xichrons and go back left to Picture 14.

Go left until you reach Picture 16 and then go up and left to Picture 17. Get the chest full of coins, kill the Troll, go back down to see yourself in Picture 18. Go left on the ground and keep on going left to find yourself in Picture 19.

Get yourself shot through the cannon although it's not really necessary and go to the right. Kill the two blobs in Picture 20 and go through the door. You will use the Metal Key on this door. Walk towards the rock and push it on the button. This raises a wall near the exit. Go back to Picture 18 and then go down in the water and head left. Once again, get all of the Gold Xichrons and kill the fish until you see Picture 22. Climb up and go to the right until you see Picture 23. Keep on going right and exploring this area until you see a door.

The door that you see is in Picture 24. Head in and kill the two bats and keep on going to the right. You find a guy lounging against the cave wall. Talk to him and you find that he's the same guy who had the stash in the Central Caverns. He'll ask you to give him back the money but I didn't see any of my money actually get deducted. You can see him in Picture 26. In my searchings I accidentally went back and talked to him again and somethid odd happened. Even though the first time you talked to him he was identified as Nimbo, the second time he is merely identified as an Imposing Figure until he introduces himself. Leave out of this room and head back until Picture 27 and exit out of this level to the left.

If you made sure to kill all of the fish and enemies, you will get 100% just as I did.
