Do you think If You Can't Stand the Frying Pan was difficult? If so, you'll really hate Out of the Frying Pan since the same fire wall is still chasing you. Instead of following you from the left to the right, it's now forcing you to the bottom of the screen. You'll face spinning Dragon Cannons, pools of lava, and knife-throwing goblins that stand in your way. However, with fast feet and patience, you'll make it through okay.
You start out in Picture 1 and it is possible to get all of the Gold Xichrons by getting the ones to the right and running back to the left. Go down and in Picture 2 you should get the Invincibility power up since it will really help you. Get back down and you'll soon be in Picture 3 with no apparent way down. Use your VBlade to break through to get to Picture 4. It's easy to accidentally grab on the walls if you're running as you get to the end of the ledge. So switch back to walking as you get close to dropping off the ledge and then run until you get to the end of another ledge. You also see a fire frog in Picture 4 that I just use Fire Seeds to kill since I want to get past it as quick as possible.
You'll see find yourself in Picture 5, and if you're fast you can make your way to the far right Dragon Cannon and grab the Resurrection Necklace but it is very difficult to do. These Dragon Cannons also rotate so try to jump into one when it's pointing down. In Picture 6, you can get the crates which I believe have health and life power ups. There are more Dragon Cannons past this point and jump in them when they are pointed downwards. You'll be in Picture 7 and quickly use the chain to go over the lava. You'll come to a series of chains over lava pools as you can see in Picture 8 so go as quickly as you can and get as many power ups as you want to. Fortunately, there is a Save point right after that so save and take a rest before getting back into the action.
In Picture 9, you'll see a whole bunch of Dragon Cannons. You want to be where I am and don't press any keys so you don't end up by falling the lava pools below the Dragon Cannons. You will be in Picture 10 with a new power up, a Feather Fall power up that makes Ferazel fall slowly. I recommend skipping it as the last thing you want to do when a giant wall of fire is approaching you is to slow down. Get your Fire Seeds ready because there are a series of strong knife-throwing goblins that are blocking your way. An example of this is in Picture 11 who will knock you in the lava if you don't get him first. There is another area where you have to quickly run back and forth, being sure to walk just before the edge so you don't cling to the wall. Picture 12 is pretty tricky because you have to do some fast wall climbing but you're rewarded by a Safe point right after that. Save and continue.
Go down and use the rope in Picture 13 to get over the lava pool and you'll be in Picture 14. Use your VBlade to break open the floor and down to Picture 15. Use your VBlade again and notice that there are some Gold Xichrons that I didn't get. It's impossible to get them the first pass through and you'll have to brave this level again if you want them. You'll be in Picture 16 after this and you can see two Rings of Smiting that you can get if you're fast enough. You also have to break the wall in front of Ferazel with the spell of your choice.
Right after Picture 16, you'll be in Picture 17 and you need to get into the Dragon Cannon that is in this picture. If you don't get into it quickly enough, you'll be stuck and won't be able to continue. There will be a bunch of fire slimes that you can either kill with Fire Seeds or just avoid them and use the VBlade to break open the floors to continue. There are then two lava lakes with disappearing platforms and in Picture 19, I'm in the last lava lake and just climbing up out. If you have enough life, you can do this since right after this you'll be in Picture 20 and the end of this level. Use the VBlade or a Fire Seed to break the rock above the button and roll the rock over it. You'll have plenty of time since the fire wall finally stops. This was a pretty challenging level and you got some practice in jumping and a lot of practice in running. As with the previous level, I didn't get 100% in the secrets and I don't plan on going back to get the items and the enemies that I missed. It will certainly benefit you but it will also be difficult to get through. If you do decide to do this, you can always use an Escape Ring to get back to the map after getting the item that you want. Now you're ready to face a boss in the next level with a very special present to reward you for going through these very tough levels. |
