Manditraki Wizard is another boss level where you will face, and I hope this doesn't surprise anyone, a Manditraki Wizard. He should be a snap to beat for such an experienced Ferazel's Wand veteran such as yourself and my tips will make it even easier. If you have any comments or problems with this guide, you can email me. I welcome all criticisms, good and bad.
At the beginning of the level (Picture 1) there will be a puddle of Ziridium Brine and a Save Point. You shouldn't have to use either of these because you saved and healed just before leaving the Labyrinth. Head to the right to face the Manditraki Wizard in Picture 2. He (she?) has two main attacks. The first one is to make a rock appear above your head. If you look in Picture 2 above Ferazel you can see a faint grey circle above Ferazel's head. This rock will turn solid and drop straight down at the spot where it turned solid. If you're beneath the rock when it falls you will get hurt, but so will the Manditraki Wizard. In fact, this is the only way that you can hurt him. What you have to do is stay on the top ledge as I am in Picture 2 and wait for the Manditraki Wizard to cast the rock spell. Then jump back and forth between the ledges that are above him so that when the rock turns solid and falls down, you won't be in the path and the rock will fall on the Manditraki Wizard instead. This will take a bit of practice and a bit of luck, but when you perfect it you will hit him more often than not. I talked about a second attack and you can see that in Picture 3. The Manditraki Wizard will go to that spot, flash orange, and then release three fire balls. That's why you should stay on the top ledge as much as possible because you can easily jump out of the way. The Manditraki Wizard will sometimes do that several times in the row and/or go to the opposite side and release more fireballs. So you should be prepared to jump several times in a row. If your timing is right, you won't even get hit by them. After dropping enough rocks on the Manditraki Wizard's head, she'll fade away and the door to the right will open revealing Picture 4. You'll get a new shield, a Heart Crystal, a Red Xichron and a Save Point. Exit after grabbing all of the goodies to get a 100% perfect score as I did. The Manditraki Wizard marks the end of our exploration on the right-hand side of the map. Now we must make our way to the desert and back underground to rescue our brethren. We are also closer to meeting the one who is responsible for the invasion of the Ferazel homeland. If you have any comments or suggestions, please email me. |
