Eeeek A Bug!
by David Dunham

David Dunham here, writing my very first edition of Eek! A Bug. Right on cue, Ben
Spees has written the update to Harry the Handsome Executive. Even though most of the
people who have downloaded Harry have had nothing but fun at the expense of the
ScumCo Corp., a few people have had problems. I feel like I have probably communicated
with each and every one of those people. Here is a list of fixes in the Harry 1.0.1 Update:

• Harry is now much less likely to crash with a Type 11 error at launch time.
• Music related crashes have been fixed.
• Fixed the bug that caused things to happen twice in Reduce Frame Rate Mode.
• The opening and save dialogues have been improved.
• Improved Harry's file handling capabilities, now files from custom worlds are handled much better.
• Fixed the graphic quirks which happened when the Line-skipping/Interlacing option was on.
• Fixed the weird behavior of rolling boulders on some levels.
• Fixed "object of kind 0" dialogue which would randomly appear on higher levels.
• Fixed missing door on level 13 (No more going into the editor to make one).
• Fixed a potential dialogue-box crashing bug.
• Harry can now be played on system 7.0 or higher.
• Fixed faulty check for the latest version of Quicktime.
• Other minor fixes.

As I said most of the people who have downloaded Harry have had nothing but fun, and now all of you folks who couldn't run it the first time can go get them doughnuts!! Thanks to Ben Spees for his list of fixes. On another note, I have heard from a bunch of people who have had problems after upgrading to Quicken98. One person I heard from had their EE+ 2File, which contained all of his addresses, moved from their system folder to their disabled extensions folder. Quicken 98 Deluxe installs an extension called NetManage Winsock Lib that may conflict with Snapz Pro. According to Intuit, this extension is for online banking. If you can stick with ATMs, you might consider disabling this extension. We're trying to track any potential problems with Quicken 98, and your assistance is welcomed. If you've installed Quicken 98, please drop me an e-mail at
help@AmbrosiaSW.com with your experiences, even if everything went well.

How's that for short and to the point? Next issue I promise I will have more to say.
