How to Handle Harry

Our new office (the one we moved into about two years ago) has steps. Gayle, Jason and I are all on our own tier. This sucks because we can't go zooming around the office like our newest hero, Harry the Handsome Executive. We can only go down the steps. It's not a pretty sight.

I remember, back in the old days, when I would zoom my way over to Gayle's office when I needed to talk to her. No fancy intercoms or phone systems, no memos or eMail, just zoomin.' Ahh... the good ol' days.

Well, fortunately we can all live vicariously though our new best friend, Harry. Harry can zoom around his office (he can really get moving on some surfaces). He can kick open doors, he can even shoot his fellow employees (no comment here ;). But what else can Harry do? Well, that's why this article has been written.

Harry basically has five movements: Turn left or right, scoot backwards, inch forward, and the quite handy "Power Kick" (slyly appropriated from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, no doubt). His Power Kick can be used in a variety of ways. It is most often used to open doors (make sure you are opening them the correct way), but the Power Kick can be used in other ways, such as to avoid danger or as a defensive measure.

Also found in Harry the Handsome Executive are several objects that can be used in a variety of ways. Planters are good things to hide behind, donuts and coffee help relax Harry and give him the ability to withstand more and more punishment. Copy machines can help Harry set milestones during his journey. Oh, and there's steps, too. One way - down.

Of course, no warrior is complete without weapons. Harry has several types of weapons from soda cans to staple guns. However, a quick wit and sly cunning can also help Harry to avoid the various nasties found throughout his world. If a situation seems dire, think it through, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

MIDI Madness

Harry has a unique soundtrack composed by Eric Speier. It's a MIDI soundtrack, and uses much less hard drive space and RAM to play. Harry also comes with a custom instrument set that adds much more depth to the soundtrack. It requires that QuickTime Musical Instruments extension be installed on the machine. Without it installed, you will hear a rather lame, computer tone soundtrack. With it, you will hear a marvelous symphony of sound!

The Harry Instruments file is automatically installed in your Extensions folder when you install the game. However, you must have QuickTime 2.5 and QuickTime Musical Instruments installed on your machine. Without this, you won't be able to enjoy the majestic sounds of Harry's soundtrack.

In the Future

If you have your own composition of midi music (or you downloaded the midi Macarena), you can add it to the level file to create that perfect atmosphere. We hope that those creative types out there will provide the Harry Add Ons page with many different musical masterpieces.

Also, you may see more adventures from the Ambrosia house as well. Hey, Indiana Jones had a couple of sequels. Harry can scoot circles around that chump.
