Well folks as I type this I’m on a little vacation in Panama City, Florida. Don’t get too jealous though: the weather has been mostly overcast since we arrived. I am determined to come back with a nice tan though, even if it means hitting the tanning salons! It’s simply a much needed break after the release of Apeiron...
Being on vacation allows me to take a little breather and think about what the future has in store for Ambrosia Software, Inc. In a word: lots.
One of the projects we’ve been working hard on has been to get full-on Internet access. We’re looking to go with a dedicated line so that we can have our own ftp site, www pages, etc.
It’ll take a bit of time to get our Internet services setup, but I think it will be a great benefit to our users once we have. It’ll allow us to put our newsletter, The Ambrosia Times, out on WWW pages for interactive browsing. We’ll also be able to make frequently asked questions (FAQs) available for interactive browsing, as well as providing automated bug reporting systems.
We are also looking to setup our own ftp site so that our Internet users will always know where to obtain the latest versions of our software. Though we currently have forums on all of the major information services, we are currently somewhat crippled when it comes to serving the needs of our customers who have access solely to the Internet. We’re working on fixing that, full steam ahead.
Of course we’ll be able to do a heck of a lot more with our Internet connection than I have outlined, once it is all setup; even things that will benefit folks who don’t have Internet access. Suffice it to say that we’re making strides to become more and more ubiquitous.
On another front, we’ve just about wrapped up our 4 color product brochures. We’ll be sending these to folks who register for one of our products in place of the license code postcards we have been using. The brochures have one page per product, giving a description of the product and a screenshot of it in action.
The brochures also provide information on entering your registration code, where are support forums are located on the various information services, and contact information so you can get in touch with us if you need to. One of our most frequent requests has been for a product list; by creating these brochures we’ll have satisfied that request in spades.
Well it is time for me to get some sleep... hope for sun tomorrow!
