This is a Mac-friendly sort of Aqua-like theme for Uplink. All of the graphical buttons have been redone in a somewhat subdued candy-colored scheme. Not responsible for any loss of visual acuity due to badly thought-out color combinations o). Once you've mounted the disk image, just copy (command-drag) the whole thing into your Uplink installation's data folder. Load up uplink, and go to the Themes section under Options from the main menu. Enjoy a more lick-able Uplink experience!

Darker Maps + Cleaner Login + Speed Highlite by Rob MacLoud The map is darker and clearer for when you've got "thousands" of connections displayed. Cleaned up the password entry dialog box because honestly I didn't like the originals. Added "highlites" to the "time speed change" selector buttons at the top of the screen making them clearer, just in case I'm not the only "hacker" foolish enough to forget to reselect normal time before cracking passwords against the clock... -P To install just expand into the data folder of your Uplink installation.

An extremely well done skin, based on Deus Ex. Suits the gameplay style perfectly, and makes a nice change from the blue. Just put the 'Deus Ex" folder in the Data folder, and switch in Prefs.

Let's Hack Splash Screen - Want to replace that Uplink startup splash screen with something cool? Then this is for you! You should not install this until you can name without hesitation those two great companies that brought this game to the Mac for you -) ... - just expand this in your "graphics" folder in the "data" folder of your Uplink installation, (make a graphics folder if you haven't already done so - come on, you're a hacker, you can figure it out) - another cool graphics mod by Rob MacLoud.

Alternative Loading Screen - tired of those weird eyes and that mandelbrot? I took the loading screen image that I thought had the most promise and "completed it" - well at least it's better than those eyes! Make a folder called "graphics" in the "data" folder of your Uplink installation and expand this download into it. You'll get a folder called "loading" with a TIFF image and a text file, both of these are required. The next time you start up you won't get "eyeballed" - brought to you by Rob MacLoud.

Here is a gateway plugin for all you people who are not satsfied with the in game ones. I made this gateway myself and it is my personal favourite. RedshirtX is a (kinda) easy-to-use, OS X only application for decrypting all those troublesome REDSHIRT-encrypted files (namely data.dat and the .usr files). It is still in development, so your comments are very much appreciated. Anyway, it's all in the archive. Contents: RedshirtX (the application), a basic readme, a usefulness guide, and contact info. OS X only. A screensaver similar to what happens when you run Revelation on your gateway. I got the strings to use from a picture in Icepick's guide (available at www.modlink.net). The font is Times-Roman, size 12. Place the folder RevelationSaver.saver in either {Your home directory}/Library/Screen Savers/ or /Library/Screen Savers/. This is the Uplink Music in AAC (.MP4) format. You need iTunes 4 to play this, or at least the newest version of QT. I can try converting them to mp3 if this is a problem for many people.
