4 Isles by Gus "Mondo" Wiseman. A challenging myst-like solo level, 4 Isles features atmospheric music and difficult puzzles.

Made by Vulcan, this level is a masterpiece, although playability suffers a bit. The fighting takes place on a bridge with a surface that can be destroyed.

A few mediocre levels from A Nonymouse. Actually mediocre is being generous.

Several very nice levels by Puck. I especially like Work and also Worked (a larger version of Work.) If youre tired of the run-of-the-mill levels, give these a try.

The first collection from the AA, this set includes a "Normal" set and an "Abnormal" set. This is one of the standard level sets to have when playing on the net.

The second level set from the AA, again following the original design with both a "Normal" and "Abnormal" set. Yet another standard to have if youre a serious player.

This set is painfully uninspiring. Warehouse is just a big room with ammo sprinkled around the floor. The four levels are just variations on the number of lives you have. Sorry - but dont bother here.

An interesting bunch of levels by inio, some are quite playable.

Levels culled from other sets, this one highlights the abnormal levels of 1998. Nothing new here as far as I can see.

Another group of levels by Puck that are very playable. If you play in a medium hull, think about switching to a light for some of these.

Four levels from Rhys McTharin. Most are very dark, making it almost impossible to see anything. Anyone got a candle? Maybe a flashlight?

Yes, the famed killer Achilles made these two levels, and while they're not bad- they're just short of being good, mostly because of the color scheme chosen. Large open fields with obstacles.

Three versions of the same level - some reduced because of the amounts of polygons used slowed weak machines. Unfortunately, none of them are much fun. Download this one if you want to look at some of the tricks in the big level, but don't bother trying to play it over the net.

All of silverfox's level sets are works of art, and fun to play. Gentle on the eyes and soothing to the mind, they are a joy to play on the net. An essential download if there ever was one.

Ohh, gee. Let's create two huge mazes where you cannot see anyone until they're right in front of you. I know - let's make the passageways so tight your hectors get caught! Don't bother with this one.

Created by the "unknown" author, this collection pulls the best levels from all of the "un" sets, including unknown, unnamed, untitled, unappreciated and unwanted. Viewed best when using the Scorekeeper plug-in.

I'd say don't bother with this one, but Temple of Krabe is kinda fun! I just wish it was a bit smaller, and the drop off delay wasn't so long. Worth the download to take a look.

Turn your friends into confetti! Apollos first set, the "Apollo Contingency" includes 10 unique levels (and one KOTH remix) for net play. Battle within the Temple of Ares, where Atlas Fell, or in the bounds of the now famous Concert Hall.

The roster note says this is an early release of a level from the Claw clan level set, which I don't think ever saw the light of day. If someone has this set, please upload it! As to the level, it's a big arena with LOTS of blocks in it. Ho hum.

A few fun levels, but some are unplayable. The highlight level is RANCID!, even though the ramps are almost too steep to get up every time.

A few levels put together by the Assassin's. Nothing special here- a few Icebox clones, and a Slick copy if you can believe it. Don't bother....

A nice set of levels (both normal and abnormal) from Tyrant, including some very good abnormal ones! Check out Hot Potato and Ransack. Very playable.

My first level set. Not too spectacular, but the capture the flag levels are ok. - Plastic Chicken Rather average levels that seem to focus more on the nice lighting than the design (hence the set title, referencing the northen lights). Still, it was a good first effort and are by no means terrible.

The last known beta version of AvaraBall, the final was (to my knowledge) never released. A massive ball game level that really never caught on.

Not! This level set by Viking "features" a bunch of levels named after several players. Too bad the players play better than these levels could ever be played. Yawn

Probably the best effort by Frenzy - this is almost an essential - small killfest arena play. Fun, fun, fun.

An interesting set of "racing" levels - complete with new hector heads. The object here is not to kill, but to run as fast as you can and complete the course. Of course, if you kill someone that delays them from completing. If you're tired of the same old levels - try this one, but it tires quickly.

I pity the fools who download this set. How to put this nicely... This %^$# sucks big time. Even the author says so in the read me. Beta versions of a bunch of unfinished levels. This shouldn't ever have been uploaded to the site.

The fifth geezer set released in February on 1999, this one is the geezers take on Ball Games. Containing the popular GzrBall level, SnapBall and others including Kniqs "Heimlich" levels.

Hmmm, a few dark levels here. Average by any measure.

An interesting concept of turning the popular board game into an Avara level. The Read Me is required to understand the procedure, but it is fun (once or twice.) Not horrible- but again it'll get tiresome fast.

A collection of solo levels (supposedly) released in 1996. Included are Arena with Eight Sides, Bad Colour Scheme, blind, Blockhouse, Dogeball 3.0 and II, Hawthorne, Helter skelter, Lasagna, LionBall, Monolith lite, Red, Spring, and Winter. If you don't have all these solo levels, grab this.

A medium sized arena with a big ball, and a few little balls... oh and some blocks. Yeah, blocks. And Balls. Oh- almost forgot the walls! And Blocks. Did I mention a big ball?

This is my first set ever. I tought myself how to create Avara levels, and started putting ideas together. This set is about one year of work for me in my free time. It has four, yes four, levels which are all unique. I do have a version of Icebox, if you want to call it that, but it isn't really much like the original other than it consists mainly of sliding obstacles. I don't know if anyone has done a level like my fourth one. It is a five room house with a patio. You can fight in it, but there is only so much room, and it is very detailed so slower machines won't be able to give the player a good battle. Another very fun idea brought to the avara environment, but again after a couple of games you'll tire of this also. It would be more fun if you had more than just one life per game. An interesting level, worth playing if you're bored.

designed by ELDoce, this map is a rendition of the town square of Caldwell, Texas, ca. 1880, the buildings are rustic, the courthouse tall. That is, of course, what that huge blocky looking brown structure in the center of town is.

A collection of levels by Grimm, most following the design theme of having an exposed master goodie in the middle, surrounded by lesser goodies on other objects for players to duck behind and use to dodge incoming fire. Each level has a unique take on the theme, leading to entertaining and fierce fire fights. One unique level even features a gauge that shows when the master goody will respawn, which adds a new level of strategy. To paraphrase grimm, "It makes sweet, romantic love to your mother."

Another fine art set of levels by silverfox, includes the wonderful Migraine, and of course the namesake level Carbon.

"A big level for big battles" it says. More like "A big layout so you'll never FIND an opponent." The level time limit is 40 minutes, and you'll need every one of them.

Interesting levels from Lord Anon III. This set replaces the heavy hull with an "Ultra Light", including a different looking head. Some fun ideas in here, check them out sometime!

Hybrid did a lot of work for this level, which has a huge number of polygons in it. It includes a slightly simplier version for anyone who wants to try and play this over the net. It's dark, like a castle should be.

Catrap had some fun making these basketball court levels, and played with some settings in Asgard from the Berserkir Fury set. Nothing exciting here...

Pretty much a solo level where you try to shoot down a heavily armored UFO. Nice work by Gen. Chaos on the layout and the look of the level.

A rather large level with a checkerboard in the middle of it. Help! Someone help! I know there must be a message here I'm missing... Call 911! Is there a psychiatrist in the house?

Three levels from CHAOS. Killer tomatoes is kinda fun... You have no ammo- just tomatoes (red balls) around you can shoot into bounce walls. If they touch you- you're dead.

Don't fall down onto the floor, because there are mines down there, and no way to get back to the upper area. If I only had a ramp...

A rather nice battleground for two teams. This one actually works quite well. No extraneous trees or other garbage, just some walls, guards, and ammo. Go ahead. Make my day.

A nice (but big) black and grey level, except that the humps in the middle have ammo on top, but I can't get up there! Tried all of the hulls too, and every trick (even superjump.)The word is called beta-testing folks. Try it sometime.

The only known level that was released by Jonathan "Poverty" Voss. The level is a small arena with nowhere to hide, and falling off the edge means death. A decent enough level for fans of small arenas with fast death. While the level isn't terrible, nor really that great, poverty is a fantastic person. Known as "Mr. Hitler" to his fans, Poverty is a much loved and popular Avara player who was a very important part of Avara's growth and its history, and is surely loved by all players of the game. My hat goes off to you, Poverty, you're a true hero and God speed you! You'll surely have the entire Avara community voting for you in your presidential campaign!

Levels by Cnemie. Built to illustrate that Avara is about killing, pure and simple. No place to hide, so get in there and mix it up!

Three very ho-hum levels...

Levels by Cnemie. This 5 level set contains Cursorial and Saltatorial (two finely-tuned layouts), Arrogance, Insomniac and Five Polys.

A few nice levels that seem to be a bit too big. Couple have invisible floors with blocks and stuff sticking up. Kinda cool, but unnerving at first. Pillr is cool.

A few levels that would be fun, but are not. Large arenas and viewing obstacles block any hope of finding another hector in these large areas.

Ever watch a car rust? This set ranks right up there in excitement. One level the author even states "I put no thought into this", and the trouble is, it shows.

"A bit like Choke, but a bit different" says the author. Hehe. Right. A missiles only level that's as open an Iowa prairie field. Ooo that's a bit too mean. Tough.

Derelict features the now famous Windshire level. Designed by Tyrant, Windshire is a solo level with the aim of sneaking into and robbing a bank. Needless to say, the level features Tyrants usual creative and tricky design, but unfortunately it will remain unfinished. Luckily, it's still very playable. Yet another great example of the possiblities the Avara engine offers.

A very nice solo level done by "Sir Ian", the only flaw I found was there was no "Red Teleporter" to find once I had killed all of the enemy. Good work though!

Dildensburg is a map created by Tyrant and Silverfox, recreating a small city area within Avara. The city includes a number of structures to explore from a hotel, warehouse and even a gas station complete with condom dispenser in the bathroom! It was built more as a novelty to play in and explore together, as it lacks sufficient goodies and is far too large for good matches. However, it is a great example of the versatility of the Avara engine, which is almost only limited by the imagination of the level designers. Definitely a great map to explore and have some fun in.

I'm having flashbacks to the 70s, and it's not pretty. Neither is this level. Nice looking, in a way, but there is NO playability here. Here Tommy, play this record, it won't hurt you... "Stayin' Alive...Stayin' Alive..."

Another unique idea from Shakespeare, this one harkens back to the olde elementary school game of Dodgeball. Get hit by the ball, and you're out - or in this case - dead. A nice change-of-pace when you're tired of the normal killing Avara games. Grab This Set!

A few average levels here, one real outstanding one called "chess" that we used to play a lot. A low-g level with some traction effects. Woohoo!

More fun from Shakespeare, these are a bit more average than his other sets.

What could have been a brilliant solo level is reduced to the core of it's name - dumb. No clear signs of what you need to do, nor how to get into some of the areas. Someone take this level, and do it right!

Imagine needing to suffer through a 15 second drop before you get into a very BADLY designed level. Oh yeah, this one will never make the download chart-toppers list. Use this level to line your bird cage.

A very interesting concept where slabs on a checkerboard floor rise up when you walk on them. Too bad the ammo is up in the air, requiring you to ride one of the corner slabs to get to them. Overall a fun level, well worth the download!

Three slightly different versions of the same level, which is unnerving because all of them have an invisible floor. Something about walking on nothing bothers me. Does it bother you?

Oh man...I can't believe I never put Fishrack on here, with FSGold on the horizon... Ah well about the levels, they aren't normal, but, at least in my opinion, many are playable. Yes some are junk, but that's why I'm making Gold. I like playing this set. But don't take my word for it!

Kinda big kinda un-wow, Charlie! Can you say boring? Try to say it again.

This is version 1.0.9 for regular avara. There is another "Fort Chaos" for AfterShock. Chaos is right- there is no purpose to this fort level. No goal, just guards that you cannot kill. Almost nice - just missed it by ' ' that much.

The last released version of Anarchaos' popular level Fort Chaos (3.6 alpha 3). This level has a number of very notable features. Turrets that players have to man, destructable fort walls, and the ability to launch bombing raids, fire gigantic cruise missiles and call in air strikes. Unfortunately, Anarchaos never completely finished the level and it's missing custom BSP graphics and sounds, has a rather garish colour scheme and bugs that can allow players to cheat. Despite this, it's still one of the best Fort levels ever made for Avara and more than worth checking out if you're looking for a fun team map.

Unlike a solidly built fortress, this level falls apart upon entering it.

Another gorgeous level set from silverfox here, grab it to complete your level collection.

This set would have been so much FUN, if there was a bit more space between all those blocks. Great concept, just the layout needs a bit of adjusting. I wish one level would have had outer walls that kept the balls bouncing a bit.

Yet another IceBox Clone. Yuck, this isn't funky, this is junky.

Now THIS is FUNKY! And FUN! Especially the Low-g level. Play that funky music...

A great premise for a solo level, this unfortunately is a net play level. Layout is interesting and fun, but play is a bit weak.

It certainly is garbage. This level wasn't even properly created - it has it's pict map included and it needed to play.

A blockbuster! The first geezer level set released, this one contains a few archetype levels including Baghdad and Showdown.

"My first released level set...21 levels, most of them new. Some were previously released in T Plus 5". A decent collection of normal levels from PatH. While they aren't going to make Silverfox or Tyrant run for cover, they aren't too bad either. Get it if you're looking for some more normal levels.

Nothing here shouts "Play Me", rather it shouts "I was bored, let me make levels that no one will ever bother playing."

The fourth geezer set released in May of 1998 brings them back to "semi-normal" levels, but now they're getting more elaborate with the level scripting. Several "jousting" type levels, a few racing to the spot ones, and a few very normal levels round out this set.

Green as in "I'm puking up food, and it's this weird green color." Save yourself, and your stomach.

This is a BETA version Gruker is a level finding plugin. To find a level you must first have it download the master level list. This master list contains the 4 letter level tag associated with each level set and a url to obtain the set itself. Once the master list is downloaded, the plugin lets you enter the set tag you want, does a search in the master list and displays the url. If it does match it to a url, then you can download it by pressing the download button. This plugin use Fetch to do the ftp work. Not even worth the download to look. Bawdy colors, huge layouts, and some incredibly sick color schemes. Some must have been fun to create, but to play they're horrible.

Four average levels, two of which are modified copies of some of the original included levels. You decide if it's worth it.

Two levels. Both would be good except they don't have enough ammo goodies, and the second - once you fall off, you're stuck on the ground. Kinda boring for a 1x1 play.

Some fun levels from Hectors In Black (HIB). Worth the download.

Hide is one of those maze-type levels that never really works for Avara. Walls are too tight - vision is too restricted.

Doesn't matter if you have HIV or not- you can't see a damn thing in this level. Too bad - it looked like a good layout.

A fun set. Copies of some of the original levels modified by Malkavian to include very powerful grenades and missiles. Also included is Lemon Lender and Confederatio Helvetica II, which were included in the AA Collection.

A dark, fun stalking level. Gets a bit crowded with more than four though.

Yet Another Great Set By Shakespeare. Green and Yellow are the colors of the day, one being the hunted, the others being the hunters. Grab some friends, and get some action going... see who can last the longest.

I-Candy is a demonstration set to show you the possibilities you can acheive within the Avara level framework. None of these levels are really for actual play. Kinda nice to look at - but some have over 200 polygons and slow down my G3 even.

Picture a bit of IceBox (with big non-moving blocks) with a bit of blind. Blocks are a bit big and hard to see opponents unless you're up on the surrounding perch.

IceWorld is a lost level. It acts like it wants to be a solo level - but wants you to play multiplayer and team up. sigh Don't bother here.

Average bunch of levels here. Playable, but not exciting. What do you think Spot? "WOOF!"

Large open arena is the layout of the day here - no- i mean LARGE arena. No, Larger STILL. Now you have the idea. Actually, Target in this set is kinda cool...

D'Keeper presents a compilation of all of his best levels, including many never-before-seen ones. With 16 normal levels and 8 abnormals, this set contains something for everyone. Get it already!

A somewhat difficult solo mission where you lay waste to some baddies. Distance and evasion are keys to winning this one. This is the first level release from Firestorm. [admin] Oooof, someone adjust Firestorm's monitor! This level is WAY too dark to be any fun. Can't judge what you can't see.[/admin]

The Red level is an archetype of the simple-is-better concept for level creators. The right balance of blocks, ramps and ammo make this level a classic that will endure time. Vengence is also good, although it is a bit big for 2 players. Well worth the download - grab it now!

The second geezer set released, it contains several fine levels including Desert Storm (Baghdad with non-locking missiles), Bermuda - a triangle layout level, SpaceJam and SpaceWalk - two low-G levels, along with a few more.

From D'Keeper, released 8/28/00, his first released set in years. "Living Levels" explores one of the possibilities raised by the random scripting first seen in "R.I.P." from the Geezers. THis is the level that you could not get for long time unless you have hotline.It has a castle with staircases and in the closet there is a tube which when shot destroys the area of castle it is in.Plus several other tubes which increase speed etcetra.i would suggest getting this map.

From the popular level designer Silverfox, this is a closed in, multi-level arena that allows you to attack (or be attacked) from both above and below. A clever stacked design really adds a new dimension to the combat, allowing players to attack each other from ANY level, unlike many other multi-level arenas. Featuring a beautiful colour scheme, this level is a remix of one of Silverfox first levels, which is also included in the set for comparison.

New regular set from the brains behind AfterShock. Some fun layouts, and then there's the speeders set. Kinda fun-with new hulls and all- but the race courses are rather long. Definitely above average.

Over The Hill is the third geezer set released. As you might guess from the name, it contains "abnormal" KOTH (King Of The Hill) versions of some of the popular geezer levels.

Released in March of 2000, R.I.P. may be the last geezer set produced for Avara v1.0. This set includes Scrambled! and Infinity, two levels that have randomly created layouts - unique to the Avara world! It also includes revised versions of Baghdad and Showdown and Hopscotch that include random incarnators.

Some might think this is dumb but this level is very useful for practicing with genades. The Ufo is indistructible and you have infinite lives. It also doubles as combat practice with other HECTORS. If you hit the floor, points are docked, but if you hit the Ufo they'll be awarded. You don't realy need to worry about the score, you can't win. You're done when you're done. Have fun, Slip Stick.

Strawberry is a unique 7 minute killfest from Ryan "Silverfox" Herriman. The arena is closed in with two levels. There are two variations included: one with grenades and one with missiles. The real unique touch is a goody located in the centre. Appearing rarely, it moves in an orbit, making it hard to catch and leaving you open to attack... but its effect is 30 seconds of invulnerability! Battles can become crazy as the sound of the power-up spawning is heard and race to grab it starts, leaving the losers to run scared around the arena until they can fight back with a vengeance.

A huge and excellent collection of normal and abnormal levels by Tyrant, one of the greatest Avara level designers. This set (The Codex 1.0.1) is huge, containing over 40(!) levels. It's broken into two files, one with normal levels and the other abnormal. The normal levels are the quality we would expect from Tyrant, with interesting and varied designs built to make the most out of Avaras gameplay mechanics, all while remaining a pleasure on the eyes. The abnormal levels offer a little bit of everything, including KOTH, wrestling, ball games and some more original designs such as a perfected version of the Rubber 'Nades level, all with the unique touch of Tyrant. A set that truly belongs in every collection.

by Gus "Mondo" Wiseman. The Mine is a huge and enthralling solo level. You are left to solve a mystery that has left several hectors destroyed... then you must find a way out of "The Mine."

Based on Tolkien's classic books. The Shire will bring you underground where you can only see a few feet. To the burial grounds of ancient king. This is Beta 1 version so expect a little quirkyness with the river level. It is nothing serious and only is slightly annoying.

The amphitheatre was included in Geriatric Ward. The other level is not worth mentioning.
